Record Deployment Set
Published on July 6, 2026
54 Artificial Reef Modules, five Patch Reefs, two Permitted Sites! The date for OAR’s most ambitious one-day deployment ever is almost here. On Tuesday, July 14, 2026 (weather permitting), OAR will coordinate deployment of memorial reefs to honor four deceased individuals, plus a large patch reef funded by FWC. The reefs will be placed in the St. Teresa site (about 35 feet deep) and the Carrabelle 10-mile site (about 60 feet deep). These new reefs will add to the 40-year success story of OAR’s dedicated volunteers. More importantly, they will enhance habitat for marine species and provide even more recreational opportunities for Big Bend anglers and divers. Please stay tuned to the website and OAR’s Facebook page for information and final coordinates.
